My instinct is: Let's figure everything out upfront.

But every question answered upfront costs time.

Every discussion costs time.

Every edge case.

Every meeting.

And eventually you can spend so much time reducing uncertainty that you stop learning from reality.


Because users probably don't care whether something auto-collapses after 7 seconds or 10 seconds.

But they absolutely care whether they can find the thing at all.
